A Forest Lake 21-year-old has been charged with second-degree assault and felony domestic assault after he allegedly attacked a female family member earlier this month.

Andrew Mark Murschel was charged July 14. According to court documents, police were called to an apartment complex in the east-west running stretch of Fifth Avenue East on a report of an assault. Upon arrival, they spoke to a female relative of Murschel, who alleged that she and Murschel had gotten in a fight about a mess Murschel left in the hallway. Murschel allegedly began to strangle the woman and threatened to kill her. The woman told police that Murschel then grabbed a kitchen knife and stabbed her in the right forearm before placing the knife to her neck and threatening her again. He later fled the residence before police arrived.
