The Washington County Sheriff’s Office recently announced the release of a new mobile application. This app is the first stand-alone mobile app of its kind in the area specifically related to a law enforcement agency. The app differs from others that house many different agencies within, such as MyPD. Washington County has been working over a two-year period with a California company, CloudspaceMobile, to develop the app. Currently the app is available for free for all mobile devices and tablets on the Apple and Android platforms, via the App Store and Google Play.
The hope is for this to be another useful tool to add to a broader community engagement effort. The app includes options to commend an officer, provide tips, view sheriff’s office social media pages, contact sheriff’s office personnel, view cold cases, get FAQ’s answered, and more. Plans for the future include daily book-in reports as well as current press releases.
